Hello!
Over the last few days, I haven't made much progress.
I attempted to make the wave spawning mechanic modular with scriptable objects, but that didn't work. An option I've been considering is creating individual scripts for each unique wave and having the spawner script call their functions. The only downsides to this that I can see are that I will have many more scripts to keep track of, and I'll have to hardcode variables into each wave script. Once I start this attempt, I'll be able to work out any problems that arise.
The one thing I did get done was creating a larger map and adding a few more spawn points.
This map is 100 tiles wide by 60 tiles tall, for a total of 60,000 tiles squared. There are eight spawn points, 4 to each side of the map.
