Hello.

I am ending this project for a variety of reasons. This log will cover what went right, what went wrong, and what I've learned.

Like all my previous projects, this one has served it's purpose in furthering my understanding of the game development progress and sharpening my coding skills. I overcame several major coding challenges and implemented mechanics I've never built, with some success.

During the last two projects I've worked on, I noticed that in the first two weeks I was very motivated to work, dedicating majority of my free time to these projects. But as the weeks dragged on, my motivation deteriorated, burnout set in and progress slowed until grinding to a halt. I've think I've figured out why this happens: the scope of the project is too large.

So far, I estimate that I can only build very small games with few mechanics on my own. I don't like working with people, I prefer to work alone. I'm not sure if I will get to the point where I can work on my dream games because of these factors. There is thought of dropping game dev as a hobby entirely, which may be necessary to focus on school and work.

Odds are, I'll drop this hobby until next summer and the same vicious cycle will continue.

Thanks for reading.
